My Story

This May, the Achill Island RNLI Lifeboat Crew will be going an extra mile to raise money for the RNLI, the charity that saves lives at sea.  During the month of May, the Lifeboat Crew will row a Mayday Mile made up of a small flotilla including a currach, some kayaks, and other small watercrafts commonly seen in the pristine waters around Achill Island.  Since the volunteer crew will be carrying their pagers, they will be be keeping a close distance to the Lifeboat Station so they can respond quickly, should a call for help arise.

The RNLI are determined to be there when they're needed most. The Achill Island RNLI Lifeboat Crew answer mayday calls and go to rescue others, day and night, 365 days a year, in all weather conditions. But, this May, it's them who are asking for YOUR help.  So if you can, please considering donating what you can to their Mayday Mile appeal to help make sure these brave lifesavers have the kit and training they need to save lives and keep families safe this summer.  Thank you!
